5.1 START HERE: Get Your Student's Pairing Code
Step One: Get Your Student's Pairing Code
(Note: this step must be done on a computer and not a mobile device)
3. Type in (or have your student) type in your child's Username and Password to login to the BISD Portal.
4. Click on the Canvas icon.

5. Click on "Account" [1] on the left Global Navigation menu bar.
6. Click on "Settings" [2].
7. Click the "Pair with Observer" button on the right-hand of the screen.
8. Copy/Write Down the "Pair with Observer" Pairing Code
This will be a six-digit alphanumeric pairing code [1]. You will need to use this code one time to set up the link to your child's course and become a Parent Observer of his/her Canvas course.
9. When you are finished, click the OK button [2]
10. Congratulations! You are now ready to set up your Parent Observer account. You can do this on a computer or Smartphone (with the Canvas Parent app).
